Downtown Fullerton Engagement Session
As much as I’d like to write something heartfelt and endearing about these two, it’s almost 5 in the morning and my brain has turned to mush, so I’ll keep it brief: Theresa’s my longest-time friend (we’ve known each other since we were 4 or 5), they’re both awesome photographers (and even awesome-er people in general), and apparently Greg’s butt is important.
With all that out of the way, enjoy 🙂
Northern California Vacation
So here’s something a little different from me… vacation photos! A few weeks ago, my fiancee and I spent a week in San Francisco with two of the nicest people we know, and then ventured out to Yosemite and back, visiting Bodie along the way.
And by “spent a week” in San Francisco, I mean we ate everything there. Seriously, everything. All gone. Because we ate it.
Oh, and on the way home, we stopped in Solvang, bought chocolate and pastries, and visited the ostriches and emus. We fed them, because they’ll be upset if you don’t, and an upset ostrich isn’t something I’d like to face.
Some random observations:
– San Francisco is an awful city for driving. Just terrible.
– Visiting Ghirardelli twice in one day is perfectly fine.
– A man in a dirty dalmatian costume asking people to take pictures is creepy, unless you’re Dean Pelton.
– There is no other way to consume clam chowder than from a bread bowl.
– The best car to drive to Bodie in is one that isn’t yours.
– Alcatraz is far more interesting in the fog.
– Old Town Placerville is great for finding antiques.
– Camino is great for finding creepy doll heads at thrift stores (a whole box, just a dime each!).
– Mosquito bites are mildly terrifying when they swell up to the size of a golf ball.
– It’s hard to appreciate just how large Yosemite is until you’ve driven all the way across it.
– It amazes me that more people don’t crash driving at night in Yosemite. Guard rails would be welcomed.
– The day you get the best clouds for landscape photography is always the day you’re leaving.
